Celebrating the Small Stuff.

When we're younger we don't really notice how much we've grown in a year until that one relative that only visits once a year pinches our cheeks and says I remember when you were so small. We don't notice the difference; all we see is another year. Our dreams are a lot like that relative. We don't notice the growth but your dreams are most certainly growing.

A little over a year ago I created a YouTube channel but because I was nervous about what people may think about me putting myself out there, I tunnel visioned myself into a familiar sense of fear and doubt. I would be reluctant to share my videos afraid of what people may think about me. Eventually I made 10 videos consistently and leading into my 11th convinced myself that nobody cared enough for me to continue. I ended my first YouTube journey with 9 subscribers. This year I started uploading videos again and I now have an archive of 24 videos and 27 subscribers; I've only been uploading for a month. I have doubled my videos and my following in that short period of time. I share my videos not just on Facebook but on every social media platform that I have.

The point of my example is that you can do whatever you want to do. I have goals by the end of the year that I will attain. I don't intend on bragging about them or even sharing them with everyone that I know. I intend to work towards them gradually making sure that I am consistent in seeing them through. If someone has a problem watching your growth and success that is simply their problem. You are not responsible for making others feel good by shrinking yourself to feel less than. We are all children of God born to make manifest; the glory of God that is inside of us. We all can shine equally as bright. Deming your light is not necessary. I'm learning this year that the power of your mind is the greatest tool known to man. Your mind controls your perception and your perception is everything. I could easily give up on my channel because I don't have a higher following but that would be doing a disservice to myself and the 27 subscribers I have that actually like my channel. Growth is a process and something I am embracing this year along with many other tools on my empowerment belt. I encourage you all to do the same.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people wont feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
