Vegan Valentine's Day | Chocolate Strawberries
Love is in the air and chocolate is on my mind. As we all know Valentines Day is almost here. Its a time when we can express love and appreciation for our loved ones most specifically our partners. Chocolate covered strawberries have always been a Valentines Day must for me. Even when I was single I'd just make them for myself and get comfy on the couch, watching my favorite love movies and crying my eyes out with a plate full of them. Thinking back, I can imagine myself now taking a gigantic bite, cracking the hard sweet coating and feeling the juices dripping down my lips. They are just so yummy!!! Being that I'm a vegan this year I can't partake in the simple milk chocolate dipped strawberries this year and that's okay. I've found a way to make some chocolate strawberries that are just as amazing and even healthier for me which means I can eat twice as many. This recipe is super simple and so versatile. But don't take my word for it, try it for yourself.
Chocolate Strawberry Sauce
Coconut oil | 1/2 cup
Vegan cocoa powder | 1/2 cup (make sure it doesn't contain milk)
Himalayan salt | pinch
Agave | 3 tbsp
Whisk together all ingredients until well combined. (If agave and oil is still separating add a bit more cocoa powder.)
Dip strawberries. Refrigerate for 5 min and then enjoy!!
OPTIONAL: After dipping my strawberries I decorated them with shredded coconut, brownie cookie pieces, and more cocoa. If you want to do this then you have to do it while your strawberries are still wet, if not then just enjoy!! Either way they're delicious!!
