Black Bean Burger
Black Beans | 2 cans rinsed/drained (save 1/4 cup bean liquid)
onion | 1 diced
green pepper | 1 diced
chili powder | 1 tbsp
onion powder | 1 tbsp
garlic powder | 1 tbsp
cumin | 1 tbsp
lime juice | 1 tbsp
salt n pepper | 1 tsp
olive oil | 1 tbsp
oat flour | 1/4 cup (optional, you can use any flour or bread crumbs you desire)
Bring a saute pan to medium heat. Add olive oil and saute peppers, onions and spices.
Once onions are translucent add black beans and lime juice. Heat for 5 min.
Mash black bean mixture until you are able to form patties without them sticking to your hands. If patties are too sticky add 1 tbsp of oat flour at a time. If patties are crumbly add 1 tbsp of bean liquid at a time until desired consistency is reached.
Form patties
Bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 15 min or pan fry on both sides. Enjoy with your desired burger toppings.
