Wedding Planning: Day of Itineraries for the Bride & Groom

As you guys know, I'm getting MARRIED!! I'm so excited and I absolutely can not wait until the big day. Of course, a lot of planning goes into that 24 hours so of course Itineraries are a must!! I've come up with a few tips that are helpful in the process of coming up with an itinerary. To anyone else planning a wedding or event, congratulations and happy planning!!

STEPS TO AN ITINERARY

  1. What are your set times? For most weddings, the set times would include the start and finish of the ceremony as well as start and finish of the reception. In my case, my set times are Ceremony 4 pm - 5 pm and the reception from 6 pm - 11 pm.

  2. Section out the day based on your set times. In my case, my sections would be... Pre-ceremony, ceremony, after ceremony, reception. At this point do not confuse your self by adding time stamps.

  3. What do you want to happen in each section? For example, my pre-ceremony section, includes a "get ready with me shoot" for the bride and groom, hair and makeup, and getting dressed.

  4. Now that you have a layout for your day, apply time.

APPLYING TIME STAMPS

PRE CEREMONY

Try multitasking as much as possible during the pre-ceremony time. For example, I will be getting my hair and make up done at the same time. I will also order lunch during this time and eat in between getting ready. If you have bridesmaids that will be getting their hair and makeup done with you before the ceremony, make sure to give them an expected time of arrival. Also, after consulting my stylist, she recommended 30 min prep times for hair and makeup. Keep that in mind also. Only you know exactly how you want your day to be so take some time to run through each section mentally and assign time stamps that work for you.
